Life Around New Corners

So long it has been since I have blogged (yet again)…

The past month and a half passed like a flash. The final year finally started after such a long long vacation. The heart still is living in those times. Those happy times… *deep sigh*

When every day started with me, starting a novel and ended with me, finishing atleast 3 in a day. The days I was all comfy in my bed and cuddling with my mom, teasing my dad and living so peacefully. But like it’s said, everything must come to an end. And, that’s what happened. =(

The final year began on March 5th, and it’s like it was all set to launch itself on us like a missile keen to make its targets suffer like hell. This semester brought the fattest book in medicine to me, “Davidson’s Principles and Practice of giving students a heart attack Medicine. The look of it gives me shivers and that’s the reason I haven’t been able to complete even one chapter in this time period. Shockingly, we have to complete this book in 3months. (Yes I have wasted half of my time =( )

Along came Paedriatics with fat books again but not Davidson fat (phew)…  The Paeds I had loved all my life now creeps me out too. I don’t know what is messing my mind so much, but it better stop now. Because:
I.need.to.get.a.hold.on.these.books.now.

Intermixed with all the downs of studies are the ups too. Things I love seem to surround me too. Alhamdulillah!

I have finally got myself a hot haircut! YAYIE. I love it so much… Thankyou Hina Y! I’ve shopped for summer and it was great. Also, I got these really nice lab coats stitched, that are tailored so perfectly that I feel like a great doc just wearing them =p. Ive had katta kat (something I didn’t have for a long time), and have been to my favorite two places, the mall and supermarket many times, Ive seen my Chacho’s Family and our little angel Zuriah has started school. =D I’m making new friends and loving getting to know them, I am so close in getting my first pay for freelancing, which makes me feel so responsible and mature. (Zip your laughter you!) =p And as much as I hatteee the journey to college it does get better when I’m there with all my pals. Laughing, talking, eating and even evening duties become fun with them around. Ive had the privilege to become Dr. Makki’s (The Most Amazing Doctor Ever) student. The guy is a legend. Respect. And now that other ward has started that doesn’t have him and he too has retired, we miss him like crazy.
The medicine stuff is fun to learn. Things have started to make sense. Oh and me’s bestie/beastie has finally made it to USA for electives. *waves gullo nani a hello from Pakistan* GET ME MY LITTMAN YOU PAGAL!

Oh, Love is in the air at university, people getting together, getting engaged and amazingly celebrating their first year marriage anniversary too (Hira and Raza a BIG congratulations!). MashAllah!

All is well except when the journey back from college starts, life sucks again. =x Anyhoo! Time will pass and one day it won’t be that far… or maybe even more far. I shall have faith in both cases.

That’s what going on here. Lemme know what’s up on the other side!

Still drooling..

I LOVE surprises. Yes I do. The happy ones BTW. Love getting ‘em, love planning ‘em, love giving ‘em.  But you know what the best ones are? The surprises life gives you suddenly without any reason and it blows your mind away. Wondering why I’m all about surprises today? No? (Whatever =p) I’ll tell you anyway! =p

Life surprised me. And it was mind-blowing.

The day was Saturday; there I was roaming/cherishing around in one of my favorite places in the world, the supermarket. I was doing great on my mission of sneaking in every cool thing I wanted me into the trolley (the ones my mom thought were useless and a waste of bucks =p) without letting mom’s eye catch me and every time I managed the task, it felt like an achievement. Our journey down the aisles was wrapping up and we were heading down towards the payment counters when something caught my eye, something new, something I wanted to get my hands on for so long.

It was like the time froze as I paced towards that little thing (okay I’m kinda being over dramatic and everything here but I always wanted to write this cheesy line so bear me =p) and I picked it up. A tiny cup of heaven. I lived in that heaven for some 15mins and they were the best 15mins of my life. For I had picked up, licked, gobbled, savored, enjoyed and ‘every synonym like this’ and lived with this.

God knows, a tiny bit of happy me has died in it too bcz it never wanted to leave it.

Here, R.I.P a ‘very happy’ part of Coral. May she is blessed more of this surprise peace-s like this.
Amen. =p

My Happy Place

The much talked about happy place. Everyone has one. Everyone needs one.

It’s somewhere you are completely you, no faking, no rules, no false, no nothing but you. Place where you are so calm, happy that you walk around like the world couldn’t get any better. That place for me is where my friends are at. My people. My persons. My best friends. That in the world is the greatest blessing, the awesome feeling. Total bliss.

Happy to have you. Now lets go party!

Wandering Heart and You

Staring ahead of me,
While heart seems to wander,
Away from the real,
Somewhere on its own.
No grip on time,
Loss of control I find..
I wander away along,
To places I don’t belong.
To places,
I couldn’t ever be,
With people I don’t truly see,
Alone and only,
So complete,
Yet so lonely.
Little trip I make,
In the town of pretend,
Liberated from the real,
Free, gratified I feel.
Little turn I make,
To find everything flawless,
Basked in the sunlit seam…
I land in the corner of dreams.
En route the end of bright,
A shadow pecks light,
With a hand out to hold,
Heart beats a little more.
To trust or not to trust,
To believe in what I see,
Soul in a fix,
Heart of mind,
Won’t mix.
Deep breath,
I take,
Leap of faith,
I make.
Blinking away,
Tears a few,
Hearts picks a melody,
A melody so new,
I raise my eyes to find,
To finally find you.

Outrageously Musical (Sadly Musical #2)

I am the kinda person who WANTS good lyrics in a song, not too hard to understand, but atleast that go well with the song, and make sense.  But like I mentioned in my previous rant post (this one), the disappearing concept of a whole package song that has everything in it from music to lyrics to emotions etc. makes me go through experiences I have never had before. Now this happened to me few days ago. =p

This is a happy me, looking forward to some really good song, hopeful, all set with my ear phones.

After a pretty cute track “bas men aur tu” from a new Indian movie I decide let’s give its rest of the songs a try. So I switch to a track called “par gaye jee” which caught my attention, due to its not so usual name.  Song starts,

Teri palkun ki udharee men bikk gaye..
Kho bethay dil, teray dil men tikk gaye..
Teri palkun ki udharee men bikk gaye..
Kho bethay dil, teray dil men tikk gaye..

*yes not such a good start* but wait then comes the outrageous part!

Chap gaee khabar ye akhbar men..
Chap gaee khabar ye akhbar men..
Parr gaye jee…
Teray Pyar Men!

And I go like!!

So yes, true but sad story. Then to torture some more it had more lyrics going something like “sab dekhtay hain humen class men… par gaye jee teray pyaar men” and then that was it. I couldn’t take no more.  =p

Anyways do give the former song I mentioned from the same movie a try, if you’re a cute romantic, you’ll like it for some time, It’s not timeless, buts it’s cute. That’s reminds me of a lame line something my friend mentioned  a few days back. It goes like,

“cute hona chaye, hot to pakora bhee hota hai”

Yes, now that’s what we call lameness personified. =p
Until next time. *ta-ta*

Cold nose Curling Toes

A little cold
A little warm
Winters are confused
This time around.
I question the jacket
And my poor shawl
Why did I ever buy you?
When I don’t need you at all
A little cold breeze
Leaves me to freeze
Then changes its mood so wild,
I turn my car heater to mild.
 Then ever so gently,
It changes its temper again,
Grows ever so warm
Make me restless within.
Peek a boo
These winters play
No fair with me,
Ever Confused
Like me
They seem to be.

Sadly Musical

*I wanna scream and shout… and let it all out, and scream and shout and let it out… I sing oon aad ooon aand oooon and onn*

Okay I found myself singing this line over and over again in my head. It’s the song Brittany spears and Will.i.am did together. I don’t like it much except this part. Lately, ive kinda observed that there have been no great songs coming on billboards. Like the ones that’s kept coming a few years back.

Few years back, my playlist was just awesome, one great song followed by the next and my whole journey to college and back (that’s 1 hour 15mins each) would go by so swiftly. I’m kinda known as the “Bluetooth song girl” in my friends, I supply every new piece of music I get for myself to everyone who asks. Good music gives me buzz, when I hear a good song, I make it viral. But now I have to find myself good songs for my way, settle myself with just okay songs. It’s like the creativity is all limited to crappy songs like ‘gangnam style’ and “one pound feesh one pound each” that makes no sense at all. I don’t get it.

Lately all songs are kinda the same, pitbull appearing in every other song, all party music and no great words and melodies. Even country music has lost its charm, every other guy with the slightest bit of huskiness to the voice claiming to sing country… puhleease spare us! Party music is great and all and I love pretend dj-ing at parties I go to with all the awesome songs people can move too and make the ambiance around me totally party rocking. But its monotonous now, no new substance in it and when it comes to sitting at home, listening to some great words and everything, I totally miss the songs that were a total package.

Lyrics+Music+Meaning+Emotions=Mind-blowing Song

So not happening these days.
It makes me sad. Pakistani songs leave us disappointing. Songs like sher khan and kurti and mojambo can’t just make the music industry stand for more that few days. Good artists like Sajjad Ali throw in a great song once in a while and then disappear. The greatest piece ive listened in the last months was “Za sta pa sha Nayam” a pushto song by Naseer and Shahab, Islamabad based artists. These guys totally rocked the scene man. You can listen to it HERE! The song was AWESOME. And then the very same thing happened. They disappeared. They might not have disappeared; they must be somewhere trying to find a big break and struggling hard. But then again, it’s sad. Music producers not having faith in true artists but crappy shit like one pound fish getting all applause.

Even Indian music is failing to impress, it’s like a formula based music for every other movie. One happy ballad, one sad ballad, 2 party songs, one title song and lastly a mashup of every song. I mean where did all the creativity go, where did ‘taking into account the mood and story of the movie’ go. Even the genius A.R Rahman failed to impress with his JTHJ songs this time. Please, Rahman sir, if you’re reading this. I’m a fan, please try harder next time.

I so hope that the music, turns over a new leaf and we find a playlist soon that blows our minds away, makes us sway and I can happily put up the music player on my blog again. Until then...
*I wanna scream and shout and let it all out*
which I kinda did. =p
